New look for Saplinbrae's Dining Room

Saplinbrae’s newly refurbished restaurant will be unveiled tomorrow (24th May 2022), after a 5-figure revamp.  The dining room within the restaurant has undergone a complete overhaul in recent weeks.

The feel of the new-look dining room is the countryside and nature. The colours and interiors have carefully been chosen to reflect the changing colours outside. They create a warm, relaxed and stylish environment for diners.

Using local suppliers was paramount for owners, Noel and Joanna Gall. Joanna comments: “Supporting local businesses helps to keep money circulating in the local area and keep jobs alive.  Our sector has taken quite a battering over the last couple of years, so it’s been good to do something positive, invest in the hotel and support other businesses in our community.  We try to source everything a locally as possible – not just services but food too.  This helps to support local businesses, but it’s also good for the environment, and it’s what Saplinbrae is all about.  Sourcing local helps to give our guests and visitors a unique experience.”

Joanna and her husband, Noel, took over Saplinbrae in 2015.  The couple have since invested into the hotel’s offering year on year.  The dining room is the final reception room to receive an upgrade and until now has only had a lick of paint to keep it fresh.  The new design offers a modern twist on a traditional room, that is broken up with a centrepiece unit that offers a subtle privacy for guests to enjoy.  New insulation and a clever use of colour add warmth to what was once perceived as a stony space.  New seating adds comfort for groups of up to 50.

Team work

The whole team at Saplinbrae have played a part in re-designing the new eating area.  Joanna said: “Inadvertently, this project has been a great way of bringing our team together.  Every person has played their own role in the redesign, from helping to choose colours, textures, and fabrics, to coming up with practical solutions to make the operational side of things run more smoothly.  Now that everything has come together, we can see already that it works.  We have created an interesting and relaxing space for our customers to enjoy.  We are now looking forward to showcasing it to the world.”
