Since 1756

THE HISTORY OF SAPLINBRAE

Saplinbrae was built in 1756, and was originally a coaching inn, before becoming a rectory, a country house and, finally, a hotel in the 20th century.

How It All Began

STRIVING TO RAISE THE STANDARD

It all started at a kitchen table on our family farm, strewn with paperwork, tea and toast, and our wee boy’s toys. We knew when we bought Saplinbrae that we wanted to capture the essence of that table, and the stories it could tell of family and friends together, enjoying good food, good wine and good times, and everyone retiring, fuzzy with happiness, to a cosy bed at the end of the night. We are farmers, and we believe in natural hospitality — serving delicious food and great wine to all who walk through our doors, with that all important smile.

We continue to strive to be the best we can and to attract talent. We know our people make our business what it is. If you would like to work with us, please get in touch.
