Cruden Bay golf Course: a must for any golfer visiting the area…

This year, Scotland has been buzzing with golfers, who have come to watch and play golf from all over the world.  2022 has seen many of golf’s big tournaments being played in Scotland, and although we’re a few hours away from St.Andrews and Gleneagles, the North-east makes for a great extended visit for those wishing to put their own game to the test.

At Saplinbrae we have enjoyed hosting golfers who have commented on how perfectly situated we are for accommodation near Cruden Bay, Aberdeen, Fraserburgh, and Peterhead.

One of our favourite courses is Cruden Bay and you are sure to find it on most golfers’ bucket lists.  If you’ve been there, you’ll see why! Designed by Old Tom Morris and Archie Simpson, Cruden Bay Golf Course is a traditional links course with the most spectacular views over the North-east coastline, taking in the sandy beaches and curvaceous dunes that surround it. It has a lovely big clubhouse too, which makes for a super vantage point overlooking the course from most angles.

Green Fees at Cruden Bay

Green fees range between £165 and £190, depending on the day of week that you play and the number of holes (18 or 36).  An added bonus for those keen golfers, is that a free round on the club’s 2nd 9 hole course, St. Olaf, is included in the fees.  And of course, another more inexpensive way to play the course, is to play in one of the club’s Open Competitions, which are listed on the club’s website here.  Worth noting for next season and booking early.
